From buried to booked: rebuilding local search and AI visibility for a Bangalore dental clinic

Two dentists, a decade of experience each, and a reputation built entirely on word of mouth. None of it existed on Google until the profile, the reviews, and the treatment content were rebuilt together.

The Situation

The dental clinic had two dentists with over a decade of experience each, and a reputation built entirely on word of mouth in Bangalore since 2016. Unfortunately, none of that reputation existed on Google.

The clinic was competing against practices with a fraction of its experience but far sharper local search presence, in a category where most patients now choose a dentist before they ever walk in. Being absent from that decision wasn't a marketing problem. It was an empty chair problem.

The Challenge

The Google Business Profile was incomplete, the review history was thin and unanswered, and there was no content built around what patients actually search before booking, cost, process, what to expect for a specific treatment.

There was no local or medical schema for Google to confirm the practice's details against, and nobody had checked whether ChatGPT or an AI Overview ever recommended this dental clinic for a treatment search. It never came up, across seven tracked treatment-and-location queries.

What we did

01

Local Audit

We audited the Google Business Profile, citation consistency across directories, and the review history, and found conflicting address and phone details quietly confusing Google about which listing was the real practice.

02

Keyword Mapping

We mapped treatment-and-location search terms by intent, root canal, Invisalign, pediatric dentistry, each paired with the neighbourhood language patients actually use.

03

Content Build

We built dedicated treatment pages answering the cost and process questions patients search before booking, and put a review generation and response system in place to close the two-year backlog and keep new reviews answered within 48 hours.

04

On-Page SEO

Dentist and FAQ Page schema went live across the site, citations were corrected across every directory, and we set up a monthly check across ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overview against the seven treatment-and-location queries the audit had flagged.

What We Learnt

Local SEO for a practice like the dental clinic rarely comes down to content alone. The gap between a clinic patients find and one they don't is usually a combination of profile completeness, review trust, and treatment-specific content working together, not any single fix.

Key insight

An AI assistant recommending a dentist nearby is doing exactly what a patient asking a friend would do, weighing specifics over reputation it can't verify. A profile with real treatment detail and recent, answered reviews gives it something to point to. An empty one doesn't.
